I Oppose Selling Any Part of the Fairgrounds for the DMC Bus

On October 1, the county received a quarterly update on DMC.  At that meeting the City’s representative continued to propose using part of the Fairgrounds (Graham Park) for huge parking ramp.  This option would sell off part of the north end of the Fairgrounds.  Please know that this would also include building roadways through the Fairgrounds to access the parking ramp.  The City and the people who represent DMC are aware that the County bought the Seneca site for the parking ramp and for the bus station that would transport passengers and Mayo Clinic employees to downtown. (This bus route is called a Circulator.)  There are adequate plans that would allow the Circulator bus to enter and exit the Seneca site.  Consequently, I expressed my opinion that I will not vote to sell any part of the fairgrounds; this was a gift from Dr. Graham and it belongs to the people of Olmsted County.  Selling off parts of the fairgrounds is not acceptable.  I left no doubt that I believe the only acceptable place for the parking ramp is the Seneca site.

Thank you for taking the time to meet and greet. As a mobile home owner and retired nurse I find your efforts refreshing, we are sometimes marginalizes I believe. Sorry I missed you.
