News: Property tax late fee extension, Best Places to Work, COVID-19, and Voting!

Property tax late fees extended to December 15

Olmsted County has extended the due date for 2020 property taxes until December 15.  No late fees will be charged through December 15.  Late fees will be charged after the December 15 deadline.  I voted for the extension of the late fees and voted to insure that the extension was granted to all property owners who do not escrow their property taxes.  I supported this extension and to help our citizens and small businesses.

Olmsted County Named Best Employer by Workforce

Workforce Development, Inc has named Olmsted County as one of 12 organizations chosen in the Southeast Region as a 2020 Best Places to Work.  The criteria for this award included data on employee turnover rate, rate of growth, promotion rates, employee evaluations, percentage of employees injured, diversity of management, benefits offered, training, paid days off, and increases in pay.

COVID19 CASES Increasing

The number of people contracting COVID19 is increasing.  This has been attributed to the increase of COVID19 transmission among the age 20-30 people.  Fortunately, at this time the number of deaths from COVID19 is declining; however, please remain vigilant about Social Distancing.

Because of the increase in COVID19 transmissions, the Governor has declared that masks will now be required starting on Sunday, July 26.  Masks, and hand washing are easy and effective ways to reduce the transmission of COVID19 and to keep everyone safe.
