At the August 7th County Board Member Heidi Welsch was hired as County Administrator starting on November 1, 2017, to take over administrative duties when long-time County Administrator Richard Devlin retires.  Mr. Devlin has served the County with distinction as Administrator since 1977.  He has earned and deserve praise for the exemplary work he has performed for Olmsted County.

Heidi Welsch has earned a Ph.D. in Public Administration and has a  great background of experience working in the public sector with Dakota and Hennepin Counties, Minnesota State University System, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal apprehension and the Metropolitan Council.

I have enjoyed working with Richard Devlin, I will miss him.  I look forward to working Heidi Welsch who has the commitment and dedication required to be a great administrator and continue the forward movement of Olmsted County.
