Updates: Public Health Department Audit, Openings in the County, Lake Zumbro Dredging, and Budgeting

Public Health Audit and Measles

Our public Health department was recently audited by the Public health Advisory Board and received a great report.  95 out of 100 measured that were assessed received a score of “fully demonstrated” or “largely demonstrated;”  5 areas received “slightly demonstrated.”  Our public health department keeps the county safe from preventable health risks it is good that we continue their dedication to maintaining a high standard.

The Public Health department continues to closely monitor the measles outbreak in Minnesota.  Tod date, there are no cases of measles in Olmsted County.  The Somali Health Advisory Committee has provided great information and encouragement regarding measles vaccinations to the Somali Community and will hold a public form at the Public Health Building from 4 – 8PM on May 22.

County Openings

Olmsted County will be opening a position for Olmsted County Veterans Services.  This position became available when the current Veterans employee resigned to accept a position in Hennepin County.
