Absentee voting for the General Election begins on September 18 and ends on November 2. Election Day is November 3. The Elections Office will begin mailing out the absentee ballots to voters who have requested them on September 18. There are many to send so they will be sent in several batches, it is likely that some batches will be sent out later than the 18th.
Read the instructions you receive carefully before sending it back. Following the instructions will insure your ballot will be counted.
Consider mailing your ballot early so that it will have no problem getting delivered on time.
Note: In the recent primary, about 80% of the votes were cast absentee and most of those were by mail. 20% of the vote was cast in person on Primary Election Day at the polls.
